I used this book and youtube videos on the BGE to help get me rolling.
Likes:
1. The beginning of the book explains how the BGE works, why you need to keep the lid closed, how the vents work, and the difference between indirect & direct grilling, plus much more.
2. Each recipe gives a diagram of how to set up the egg, i.e. using the plate setter, where to put the grills, etc, so you quickly know what to do.
3. The 2nd section takes you through “school,” 13 recipes, easy to pro. We are going through the levels, starting with chicken wings, then roast chicken, steak, pizza, etc. until you graduate with brisket. We are learning a lot with each level, and we are not frustrated. Perfect way to start out using the BGE.
4. Most recipes look good and I will try once we finish the levels.
Dislikes:
1. Some recipes are too fancy. Not enough just basic recipes, like roasting veggies, or easy things to make for a group.
I definitely recommend this book.

So I bought a couple of cookery books to figure out how to use the thing. Of the 3 I bought this is the best, by far. At least for a novice like me.
I like how each recipe tells you exactly what set up you need and the target temperature. The recipes themselves are easy to follow and relatively simple to execute. I’ve only done a few but each has delivered spectacular results.
In particular, the green chicken skewers, chicken wings, pulled pork, roast chicken and pork belly roast are all just fantastic.
Highly recommended. A great way to find your feet with a BGE and get the hang of a device which can be slightly daunting at first. Like riding a bike: once you’ve learned how to use it (with the help of this book) you’ll be well away.
